This project is done. I have, with the help of many friends, managed to pull off one tune a week for an entire year.
For the friends that did collaborate, you are awesome. Thank you for bringing something unique to the table.
For those of you that have paid attention and listened, I appreciate it. I thank you for the 'Likes', the comments and suggestions. It means a lot to me. I did this for the sole purposes of being creative, sharing my ideas and music with my friends. Just to make music, not for profit, or a record deal. Just for fun. To share a piece of myself with you. Life is short and I am just thankful that I'm able to write and play music.
So in closing. Thank you.
I hope to, in the future, offer you more music, so stay tuned.
love

Epilogue
#52 of 52
This is the end, my only friend the end!!
Ok, so first and foremost, a big shot out to my good friends Charlie Flexon and Ben Verlinde for helping my throw this track together. Charlie and I have played in bands in the past and I've been looking forward to having him throw down on at least one of these damn tunes, glad it could be the last one. We originally put this tune together at his place a while back when we got up to jam one night. He laid down bass and keys. I did drums, guitars and vocals. Ben came in and added guitar as well. The horn in the break at the end is a sample from my old band The Sugar Report, it was played by the great Brian Newman.
A song about closure.
Enjoy.

All That Way For Nothing.
#50 of 52
Almost down to the wire.
This tune I originally wrote awhile back, I just tracked acoustic guitars and drums, then never really did much with it afterwards. I spent a little time this week going back and listening to a lot of unfinished tracks to see if there was anything worth reviving. I felt like this guy could shine. I'm happy with the over all ending, it was rushed a little (I started everything else you hear, beside acoustics and drums, last night.)
A song about ending up short.
Enjoy.

This reminds me of punk meets psych rock. I originally wrote it much faster, then ended up bringing the tempo down a bit. A song about running from your problems.

Yet another collabo with the great Nic Buchholz. This one was pretty much all laid out by Nic. I went into the mix with little guitar, then came up with lyrics and vocals. Nic then rolled back into the fold and added vocal harmonies. I really love this tune, it's completely unlike something I would normally write, and that's what makes it so good. I felt myself really challenged by the vocal process on this tune and I'm really happy with the outcome. A song about memories.
Enjoy.

Train to Nowhere.
#47 of 52
This track came together with the help of my friend Andrew Hockensmith. I really love the final product, it's one of my favorites in the series. I actually put together the skeleton of "Train To Nowhere" a long time ago, back at the end of '09. At the time it was just a simple beat and keys. I sent it to Andrew recently to see what he could add and he really got the ball rolling on it. He added in bass and guitars, then sent it back. I, in turn, added more guitars and vocals. Then he capped it off by adding in some new beats. It really reminds me of that 80/90's Manchester sound, but still remaining really distinct. It's a song about uncertainty.
Also check out some of Andrew's mash-ups HERE!
Enjoy.

Week 47: "Train to Nowhere"
Enjoy.
